Hyundai has made no official comment on a possible rumored return to the World Rally Championship.

The company withdrew from WRC activity in 2003.

The German Auto Motor und Sport magazine has posted a report on its website suggesting that the Korean manufacturer has almost completed a racing version of its i20 at its European base at Offenbach in Germany, with orders placed with suppliers for motorsport components. The website suggests that this could then lead to a rally programme like Volkswagen’s.
